First steps in a professional environment: what it means to be an intern at the marketing agency “BSMS.”
The approach of the end of university studies is often a confusing and reflective time. Alongside the satisfaction of what has been accomplished, questions about the future increasingly arise about which direction to take, which professional path to choose, and how to turn the knowledge acquired so far into real work experience. That is why starting an internship during the final semesters of university is a great opportunity to gradually explore your future career field and, before your first real job, discover what truly excites and inspires you. I had the chance to gain this experience at the sales and marketing agency “BSMS.” Although my internship lasted only one month, during this time I gained valuable insight into the daily operations and processes of the marketing industry, which allowed me to practically develop my professional skills.
During my internship, I was involved in various projects. For example, I participated in influencer marketing projects - my tasks included searching for and selecting potential collaboration partners, as well as assisting in video filming with influencers, while simultaneously developing my skills in video production and editing. In addition, I worked in the field of digital marketing, where one of my main tasks was content creation for existing clients. This involved both developing ideas for social media posts and creating creative concepts for future communication, thereby gaining practical experience in content planning and development. During the internship, I also completed tasks related to lotteries and various promotional activities, as well as helped develop advertising texts and ideas for campaign communication. These are just a few of the tasks I had the opportunity to participate in, as agency work is very dynamic and diverse, and every project provides a chance to learn something new.
Particularly valuable in this experience was the “BSMS” team itself. My colleagues were responsive and open, which allowed me to quickly feel comfortable in the work environment. I would especially like to thank my internship supervisor, Patrīcija Bartuseviča, who helped me navigate the agency’s operations and was always ready to answer questions and share her experience.
This internship has given me not only practical knowledge but also confidence in my chosen path. I feel that I am on the way to something big and meaningful. I have developed a sense that interesting projects and new opportunities await me in the future opportunities that I cannot even fully imagine yet. Most importantly, I know that I have started my true path and that I am ready to grow and develop myself in this field.
